Your Issue Title Here

"Our police officers did an outstanding job in responding to an out-of-control situation. But there are serious questions regarding the political leadership, which can best be described as posturing, in the lead up to July fourth.

We need an independent, afteraction analysis of what went wrong, including recommendations for better intelligence gathering and logistics for crowd control."

- Dr. Andy Gerken, Candidate for Newport Beach City Council

Residents deserve answers for July fourth riot.

Our city is on the wrong track. The current city council majority has significantly abandoned the shared values and common consensus that have guided Newport Beach for decades. It’s time for a change.

Nine Former Mayors Call for a Change on the City Council

"There may be some long-needed changes coming to Newport Beach City Council soon. The latest verbal battle between the council and the citizens (the question as to where to locate the city’s police station), has so far resulted in two new candidates throwing their hats in the ring for City Council..."

And these are not just any candidates; they are both highly regarded members of the community. One is author and Harvard Law School graduate Walter Stahr, and recently retired medical doctor Dr. Andy Gerken.

Newport Beach Council Decisions Ignite Community Frustration and New Candidates

"...Our city is being run by a political machine, and they are working overtime to keep the voters from holding them accountable. The election in November is about protecting your right to vote from those who would take it away. Let’s remember the spirit of Howard Jarvis and Paul Gann and say loud and clear that our right to vote will not be undermined by this majority bloc."

- Dr. Andy Gerken, Candidate for Newport Beach City Council

This election is about the right to vote

"...The council majority is spending tens of millions of tax dollars to run roughshod over the will of our residents. We must change this in the next election."

- Dr. Andy Gerken, Candidate for Newport Beach City Council

The Council Majority Drops the Fiction of Looking and Multiple Sites

So far, this campaign for city council has been an exercise in diverting your attention away from city issues and focusing you on matters that do not relate to protecting our quality of life, maintaining fiscal stability or protecting our neighborhoods.

Dr. Andy Gerken: Where I Stand

"...I stand for the right of citizens to vote on important measures like growth, traffic, debt and policy as protected by our state Constitution and our City Charter. I look forward to debating Lauren Kleiman who has a different view on these issues in the upcoming campaign."

- Dr. Andy Gerken, Candidate for Newport Beach City Council

My Commitment to You, Newport Beach

“I was saddened this morning to read about the violence and disorder in Newport Beach last night in the wake of our Fourth of July festivities...

I strongly condemn the violence, property damage, and disruptive activity that placed our public safety in danger, and desecrated one of Newport Beach’s most cherished events. Let me be clear: this conduct has no place in our community..."

- Dr. Andy Gerken, Candidate for Newport Beach City Council

Newport Beach City Council candidate responds to the aftermath of the July 4th celebrations

"Newport Beach deserves leadership that listens to its residents and respects taxpayer dollars. That’s why I strongly support Dr. Andrew Gerken for City Council District 6..." - Lynn Swain, Big Canyon

"I am so thrilled to see that another civic-minded resident has decided to run for City Council..." - Susan Skinner, Newport Beach

"Dr. Gerkin will not only show respect, but he’ll also listen to those who elect him"
